THE MISSION
Last year we teamed up with VW Brand Ambassador Jamie Orr for the ultimate test of an ECS Street Shield, taking a slammed Jetta Sport Wagen to the Arctic Circle. This year once again we're pairing with Jamie Orr, but this time around we're heading SOUTH. The new RallyWagen a VW MK7 GTI will leave ECS Tuning for a trip around the USA ending at SEMA in Las Vegas! Then... we'll head south, and attempt to cross all of South America in under 3 weeks, visiting 9 countries, crossing the Andes mountains, navigating deserts, cities, and rivers, to the most southern highway in the Americas at the end of the Pan-American Highway. Follow along as we take this MK7 GTI from STOCK to Rally Ready in just a few short weeks.

THE DESIGN
With the mission set, Jamie Orr and I proceeded to hash out what we wanted the Rallywagen to look like. VW of Germany’s (VWoG) TCR trim line on the newest GTi started as our main inspiration and we wanted to partially emulate their elongated hexagonal design and merge it with a depiction of what the journey would entail. Using VWoG's official design files, I pulled elements from their design while adding a stylized map of North and South America into the race-inspired livery.
